Welcome to
the Rock!
Quaerite Prime Regnum Dei
(Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God)
This page is here to give you a little glance at
Canada's largest island province.
Interestingly enough,
Newfoundland is also Canada's youngest province and
is the place of my birth. I left her in 1988 but I
have always carried a piece
around
with me. So, rather than create a self-serving web page like so many
thousands before me (you'll excuse my the irony of that statement considering my
resume is up here too),
I decided to show off the Rock to those who care. In these
pages and links you will find interesting facts and
beautiful pictures of this
wonderful place surrounded by the Atlantic ocean. Enjoy!!

Newfoundland Coat of Arms |
Newfoundland was the last of the provinces to join
Canada. It's claims to fame include being the birth place
of modern telecommunications (thanks to Marconi and the first wireless transmission from St. John's, 1901).
Also, NF contains
the
most easterly point in North America, and has a little beverage called Screech,
a Jamaican rum once used by sailors on the long fishing trips from England to our rocky shores.

The map below will provide you with more info and visuals on the province
and
certain towns in it. Corner Brook,
Gander (my home town), and St. John's
will provide you with info, as will the big 'i' in the middle. The binocular
icons will show you some breathtaking scenes from my home. THANKS FOR VISITING!
